Kauffman Park Friends is the citizen group driving bold plans for revitalizing Kauffman Park, committed to working with the City of Lakewood to improve the park to benefit all of Lakewood's residents. Last year we were given a big assist when LakewoodAlive's Design Committee provided a Professional Master Plan outlining some of the changes we'd like to make. In October of 2013, the City's Planning Commission conceptually approved our Master Plan and has incorporated it into the Citywide parks Master Plan. This is a big deal because it marks the end of the planning process and the beginning of our being able to make improvements. With an approved Master Plan in place, we can apply for grants and approach the City for assistance and minor funding. Once you check out the Kauffman Park Master Plan it's likely you'll get just as excited as we are. You might even ask, "When will all this happen?" Our response? "That's up to you!"
